SPACE PHYSICS RESEARCH

This is a portal to information and resources related to space physics research conducted by the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at The University of Iowa.

The department has a rich history of leadership and participation in space physics research dating back to the launch of Explorer 1 in 1958 carrying Professor Van Allen's cosmic ray experiment. Since then, we have developed instruments flown on seventy successful missions.
