CASSINI RPWS:
Data Access and Visualization Tools

PDS Data Volumes

Cassini RPWS standard product files may be downloaded from the PPI-Node of the Planetary Data System. The PDS has re-arranged the data files into five whole-mission volumes, one for each of the five product types:

Researchers requiring local copies of RPWS data products should download these from the PDS. All 248 RPWS standard product volumes as submitted to the PDS are also available from our archive volumes page.

Plotting in Autoplot

The following links provide Autoplot setup files. Opening any of these in Autoplot will provide interactive plots backed by multi-resolution das2 streams from our servers. Panning and zooming in time automatiaclly triggers requests for new data at a resolution consistant with the give time span. Local data files are not required. To install Autoplot use one of the following options:

For best results configure your web and filesystem browsers so that Autoplot is the handler for all files that end in .vap.

Custom Applications

The following links require Java webstart to be enabled on your computer. Clicking the link will download a custom built Cassini RPWS application to your computer which may be used to visualize the indicated datasets. Many of the same mouse interactions used in Autoplot, such as zooming and panning are avialible in these applications as well since Autoplot was build around das2 plotting libraries.
