Europa Closest Approach/Perijove Part 1

Record for ~132 minutes beginning at about 21:26 on day 310 (6 November) 1997 at a distance of ~ 9.4 Rj and a magnetic latitude of 5.9 degrees.

Europa Closest Approach occurs at 21:49 at about 9.35 Rj.

Magnetic Equator Crossing occurs at 22:40 at about 9.24 Rj.

Recording Ends at 23:38 at 9.17 Rj and -4.8 degrees magnetic latitude.

Here is the geometry for this observation.

Playback Strategy:

Return LPW (Golay) wideband data at rate of 4:1 by returning every 4th waveform snapshot.

Europa L-shell crossing and Perijove Part 2

Here is the geometry for this observation.

Record LPW for ~60 minutes beginning at about 04:00 on day 311 (7 November) 1997 at about 9.33 Rj and a magnetic latitude of -4.0 degrees.

Cross Europa's radial distance at about 04:10 at 9.35 Rj.

Cross magnetic equator at about 04:48 at 9.44 Rj.

End recording at about 05:00 at 9.47 Rj at a magnetic latitude of 1.0 deg.

Playback Strategy:

Return LPW (Golay) wideband data at a rate of 4:1 by sending back every 4th waveform snapshot.
