I would like to point out two things, one of which is described in my report that I delivered to Rich Miller and David Morris: 1. The only opportunity on Cluster, even if it functions for 10 years or more, to obtain small scale (meaning simultaneous multi-spacecraft, interspacecraft separations around 100 km) measurements of the nightside magnetopause (a prime Cluster objective) and dawn chorus (a WBD prime objective) is during the time frame of Oct. 2003 through Jan. 2004. 2. DSN has failed to fulfill its explicit stated requirement of providing 10 microsecond timing accuracy for the entire Cluster mission since launch. We have a workaround for one of the problems associated with this starting in May of 2002. A further problem is still unresolved and there are no workarounds. Trying to get this problem resolved has consumed an inordinate amount of my time and my data processor's time since about March of this year. I would be happy to discuss both of the above with you next week.
