<Description>The Polar Wideband Receiver (WBR) made use of all 6 channels, 3 electric and 3 magnetic: Eu and Ev (130 m, spin-plane), Ez (14 m, spin axis) two-sphere electric dipole antennas, and 3 triaxial searchcoil magnetic antennas. The instrument operates with bandwidths of 11, 22, or 90 kHz with a lower band edge at 0 kHz, 125 kHz, 250 kHz, or 500 kHz. WBR Antenna can be set to (0=Eu, 1=Ev, 2=Loop, 3=Bu). The output waveforms are digitally sampled using a 1, 4, or 8 bit resolution modes 12, 24 or 48 dB dynamic range. Programmable gain amplifiers provide dynamic range of 0-75 dB with 5 dB resolution.
Each image is a plot of the power spectral density (V^2 m^-2 Hz^-1) of received signal (color scale) as a function of operating frequency (in a logarithmic scale on vertical axis) and time (horizontal axis). At the top of each plot is a title indicating the Instrument, Receiver followed by the time span for the spectrogram. Beneath the time labels on the horizontal axis are ephemeris data: position of the spacecraft in radial distance (Earth radii), geomagnetic latitude, magnetic local time, and McIlwain L-shell. The antenna gain level is indicated at the top of each plot.
This data comes in snapshots of 1992 or 3984 points per channel every 0.064 seconds. The duration of a snapshot is less when the instrument is in duty cycle modes.
