- I have been a researcher associated with the University of Iowa
Space Plasma Wave Group since February 2006. The present focus of my
research utilizes the European Space Agency's
Mars Express
space probe, specifically that from an on-board radar instrument known as
the MARSIS active sounder, from which I study features of the topside
ionosphere of Mars. This research was the core of my Masters work
(2006-2008), and has continued into further study of this topic and the
Martian ionopause.
- Previously, I have also worked on analyzing data sent back from the
Saturn-orbiting Cassini
space probe, with which I have performed the research for my Ph.D.
and subsequent postdoctoral work (2008-2011), as well as during a period
of independent research (2012-2014), studying Saturn's auroral hiss
emissions.
- I was privileged to be able to teach collegiate Astronomy and Physics
for two years (2013-2014). It was truly a joy to not only share the
passion and knowledge I have for these topics, but also to inspire the
younger generation as they begin their journey.
- Over the years, I have been blessed to live and work in several
places, including at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida and
Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan. However, wherever life
may take me, Iowa City will always be my home.
