Cassini RPWS Audio Clip



Audio from "The Big Empty" near Saturn

This is the audio from Cassini's first dive under the rings of Saturn on April 26, 2017. In contrast to other ring plane crossings, for example the ring plane crossing of December 18, 2016, shown below, this crossing was almost totally devoid of dust impacts. Instead, we observe interesting plasma wave noise.
