Gurnett Symposium

On Oct. 16-17, 2015, the University of Iowa and the Department of Physics and Astronomy organized events to commemorate and celebrate Prof. Don Gurnett's 50 years of teaching and space physics research excellence at the University by hosting a symposium on the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City.

Registration
Pre-registration for the banquet and payment of the meal fee was required by Oct. 2, 2015. For those who registered to attend the banquet, tickets were distributed near the door of the 4th floor assembly hall upon arrival at the Levitt Center. Jeremy Faden and University of Iowa Alumni Association staff members managed the online registration process.

Travel and Housing Information.
Attendees were responsible for their own travel and housing expenses.
Three hotels were identified within walking distance of Van Allen Hall: the Iowa House, Sheraton Iowa City, and the Hotel Vetro. A block of hotel rooms was held under the name Gurnett Symposium at the Iowa House, which is a three-block walk uphill to Van Allen Hall. Contact information and descriptions of the local hotel options can be found under "accommodations" on the travel and housing information page.
