POLAR PWI OPERATIONS
                         FIFTH REVISION (7/22/97)

The following operations are proposed for the entire Polar orbit,
contingent upon the availability of high-rate downlinks. Until
mid-October, the focus will be on the acquisition of 6-point
waveform receiver data (high-rate telemetry data) for 90% of the
Polar auroral zone crossings and for 100% of the plasmasphere and
polar cap crossings. The remaining 10% of the auroral zone crossings
will be used to acquire 3-channel interferometry data. No changes
are proposed for the acquisition of low-rate telemetry data. The
exceptions to this plan are the SPECIAL OPERATIONS PLAN (to be used
when PSI is operating) and the VACATION MODE.

rate downlink and pre-suppose that no Science Priority Operations Topics
(SPOT) intervals have been designated.))
